About the Event
Join Focalpoint & Jimmi Hill, Raptor Aid CIO to learn about owls, their ecology, behaviours and how
to identify the species found on the British Isles.
The evening will start with an illustrated introduction to their identification, life histories and species-specific behaviours, where you
might observe them and their current conservation statuses in the UK.
We will discuss in further detail conservation efforts to help owls in Britain including a look at nest box designs and how you might be able to get involved in monitoring owls in your area. There will also be an opportunity under the guidance of Jimmi to try your hand at dissecting wild barn owl pellets and learn how this helps us understand the role of habitat management for this species.
The overall aim of this evening is to introduce you to the wonderful world of owls, the important role they play in our environment and how we can do better to support them.
